Uzhhorod buildings of interwar modernism were built, covered with plaster and faux stone materials that were of the utmost quality. We may now see that materials at the buildings that were properly maintained as their appearance remained almost unchanged for the last 80 years. However, it is most often the case when a small detail – such as old leaking drainpipe – leads to complete wreck of façade plaster and further destructive processes for walls until total loss of building visual image and energy efficiency.
Unfortunately, residents of the buildings and responsible authorities do not notice this critical aspect, which results in more serious problems than repair of a drainpipe. Thus, the issue comes to the replacement of plaster and building renovation that is often the reason of totally destructive reconstruction supported by continuous desire to save time and costs
